The body of a Pegasus Hotel taxi driver was early Saturday morning found on a road in South Ruimveldt, police said.

He has been indentified as Rudrinauth Winston Jeeboo of Delph Avenue, Campbelville.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said Jeebo’s body was found about 7 AM on the roadway at Cane View Avenue.

He sustained head injuries but there was no external bleeding. His recently purchased Toyota Allion car, HC 3521, was found “intact” at the back of Guyhoc Gardens. Investigators confirmed his identity by his driver’s licence which was found in one of his pockets.

Sources said one of his colleague taxi drivers recalled last seeing him at the Kingston-based hotel about 1 AM.

Repeated calls to his mobile phone were unsuccessful as it was “either turned off or out of the serving area”, prompting family members to begin making enquiries only to be greeted with the tragic news.
