A man who was freed of murder almost two years ago was gunned down in Albouystown, Georgetown late Tuesday night.

He has been identified as 29-year old Rayburn Harvey of 156 Non Pariel Street, Albouystown. Police said that  about 11:45 Tuesday night was on the roadway at Walker Terrace, East La Penitence, when a man rode up on a motor cycle and discharged several shots at him and escaped.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation around midnight Tuesday and he died shortly before 5 AM Wednesday.

The youth died while undergoing surgery for multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Sources said his assailants were on a motorcycle.

Harvey was freed of a murder charge by a High Court in March 2012. He was accused of gunning down Samantha Belle on March 18, 2006 on Vlissengen Road in the vicinity of St. Sidwell’s School.

The Court had found that there had been inconsistencies in accounts given by a witness in a statement and those in the Courtroom.
