A taxi driver, who was shot to his face before his car was hijacked, was Tuesday recuperating at a city hospital.

An official of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) said 43-year old Samuel Pinder of Albouystown was resting in the Accident and Emergency Unit.

When Pinder is discharged on Wednesday, it is unclear whether he would regain possession of his silver coloured Premio motor car numbered HA 2206.

Police said the two robbers escaped with the car after one of them shot Pinder to his left side face.

Investigators said that shortly after the taxi driver picked up the men on Robb Street to go to Tucville, he was attacked around 9:30 Monday night on Go-Slow Avenue.
