A 38-year old cane harvester was Tuesday found hanging in his house at Angoys Avenue, New Amsterdam.
Police say Mark Hope is believed to have committed suicide, after another round of disagreement with his reputed life, Ruth Lewis. She has three children from a previous relationship.
Police said that Lewis returned home to see Hope's body hanging.
Prior to the discovery of his body, he had gone to a nearby shop and bought some rum.
Hope had in the past repeatedly threatened to commit suicide.
Suicide is a major cause for concern by the Ministry of Health. Government is working on strategies to reduce the high incidence of suicide.
