15-year old mechanic shop employee shot during armed robbery

A 15-year old boy, who was employed at a mechanic shop, was  Sunday shot in his face during an armed robbery in South Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

Police sad Jamal Lewis of Wren Avenue, South Ruimveldt was shot while one of the employees scuffled with one of three armed bandits who stormed the mechanic shop. His condition was listed as “serious” and he was receiving emergency treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

The incident occurred at about 2 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2016.

Investigators learned that the employees were robbed of cellular phones and a small amount of cash.

Police said they were looking for silver Spacio, registration number unknown, that the suspects escaped in.
