Barbados-bound young woman allegedly caught with cocaine strapped to body

A 21-year old woman was Wednesday morning arrested at the Ogle International Airport (CJIA) with six kilograms of cocaine strapped to her body.

Head of the Customs Narcotics Unit, James Singh said the woman was booked to travel to Barbados and the United States (US

‎Drug smugglers travelling to interior and overseas locations from the Ogle Airport are routinely caught there.

The arrest of the woman came one day after the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit disclosed that it had been tracking a Jamaica-originated shipping container with ‎ 1,276 pounds of marijuana.

The container also had a piece of heavy duty machinery for a sawmill company.   The customs broker and an official of the sawmill company have been arrested.
