WANTED: Shemar “Abdue” Wilson

Police on Friday issued a wanted bulletin for 20-year old man in connection with the discovery of a grenade near the vehicle that is usually driven by the publisher of Kaieteur News, Glenn Lall.

He is Shemar Wilson called ‘Abdue’. Police said they want to question him in relation to  ‘attempting to cause explosion’ which occurred on June 6, 2016, at Saffon Street, Charlestown, Georgetown.

He is 20-years old, of African descent and his last known addresses are 43 North Sophia, Georgetown and 51 West La Penitence, Georgetown.

The Guyana Police Force assured that “all information will be treated with the strictest confidence.”

Investigators asked that anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Shemar Wilson is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-227, 225-8196, 227-1149, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station.

One day after the incident, police arrested six persons including the owner of the car who had initially claimed that her car had been hijacked.

Police later sought a High Court extension to continue detaining them beyond the initial 72 hour period to facilitate ongoing investigations.

The live fragmentation grenade was found near the right front wheel of Lall’s vehicle while staff members were nearby at a wake for late Kaieteur News Assistant Editor, Dale Andrews. The pin was detached from the device but it did not explode, apparently due to poor storage.
