Armed bandits shoot man, grab GYD$1 million during Corentyne home invasion

Armed bandits early Saturday morning invaded a home at Rose Hall, Corentyne, shot one of five persons who were plucking chicken and escaped with GYD$1 million and jewellery.

Injured is 20-year old Samuel Fernandes of Sand Reef, Rose Hall. Police said he sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He has been admitted to the New Amsterdam Hospital.

Investigators were told that at about 4:45 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016, Vanisha Shrikissoon, 30 years, and four other persons who were plucking chicken when they were held at gunpoint  by three men armed with firearms who had entered the home.
