The Deputy Chief Elections Officer (DCEO) of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Vishnu Persaud says that the current civic voter education strategies being employed by the elections body are adequate.

This comes after concerns would have been raised that the voter education program may be lacking in some areas and not reaching the widest cross section of Guyanese.

These concerns would have been ventilated on social media as well as by the General Secretary of the People's Progressive Party (PPP) Clement Rohee.

During an exclusive interview with Demerara Waves om Thursday, Persaud detailed that several mass media methods were being employed by the agency.

He stated that while concerns have been raised, no person has pinpointed any area that needs improvement.

"Not good enough? How do you substantiate a statement like that? What does that mean?" questioned Persaud.

The DCEO related that GECOM as part of that aspect has engaged and continues to engage stakeholders in forums across the 71 Local Authority areas.

"let me tell you how good its good enough, we are arranging stakeholder meetings across this country," he stated.

In addition to the meetings, there are ads being played on the radio and television said Persaud
