The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC), in collaboration with the Hand-in-Hand Group of  Companies, released four new locally themed postage stamps on Monday October 5, 2015, to observe the insurance institution’s 150th Anniversary.

Stamps will be available for circulation in $80 and $150 denominations at selected Post Offices.

“Commemorative stamps are the perfect memorabilia to celebrate an anniversary or significant event. Such stamps are circulated both locally and internationally to a wide cross-section of people,” the Post Office Corporation said in a statement.

Stamps also attract the interest of Philatelists who purchase, sell and store them as valued collectables.

GPOC wishes to congratulate the Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies on the attainment of its 150th Anniversary.

The Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies was established in 1865 and began its operations at the current Headquarters. Today, the company operates fourteen (14) offices countrywide.

Moreover, Philatelists and members of the public who would like to obtain First Day Covers for this new issue of commemorative stamps should contact GPOC’s Philatelic Services Department, Robb Street Georgetown, said the GPOC.
