Chinese employee buried while testing soil for CJI Airport expansion

A Chinese national was Thursday killed while testing soil at Timehri as part of works for the expansion of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

Police said that at about 12:35 PM Thursday September 17, 2015, Chinese national Lui Li, 23 years, was doing soil testing in the Timehri Area.

He was trapped beneath a quantity of soil that caved in on him. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, East Bank Demerara.
