MURDER ACCUSED: Christopher Stanley

A 19-year old man was Wednesday arraigned for the murder of  a Tiger Bay, Georgetown resident  well-known as Red Cap.

Christopher Stanley was not required to plea when the indictable charge was read to him by Magistrate Ann McLennan. He was remanded to prison until September 15, 2015.

Stanley, who was not represented by a lawyer, is accused of the murder of 43-year old Owen “Red  Cap” Brown on August 29 at Rosemary Lane, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown on August 29, 2015.

The police prosecutor did not read the short facts of the allegation

But the Guyana Police Force has said in a statement that ‘Red Cap’ was involved in an altercation with another man at Rosemary Lane during which he was fatally stabbed.

Stanley, who had injuries to his body, has been arrested and was admitted a patient under guard at the GPHC.
