Alleged killer of Montrose granny remanded

MURDER ACCUSED: Colin Alleyne

The man, who bludgeoned a 77-year old woman to death with a spanner was Tuesday arraigned on a murder charge.

Colin Alleyne was not required to plea to the indictable charge when he appeared in the Sparendaam Magistrates Court.

He was remanded to prison until September 27, 2015 by Magistrarte Zamana Ally.

Alleyne, who was captured on Saturday last at Guyhoc, Georgetown, is accused of the murder of Danrasie ‘Carmen’ Ganesh on August 1 in a house for which she was the caretaker.

He has confessed to committing the offence in exchange for GUY$700,000 that was allegedly paid by one of the woman’s relatives. He said he was hired to search the house for property documents.
