Easter Monday fire displaces family

A family of three was Easter Monday rendered homeless by fire at Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara. The name of one of the occupants has been given as Bernadette Hinds. The fire of electrical origin severely damaged the wooden house at Plantain Walk, Beterverwagting. No one was injured.

An Essequibo Coast man is feared drowned following the collision of two boats on the Pomeroon River near Charity. Investigators said the missing man is 21 years old Kelton Benjamin of Coffee Grove. Brazilian businessman, youth shot dead

A Brazilian businessman and a Guyanese man were shot dead in separate incidents within 24 hours, police said in a statement. The businessman, 58-year old Antonia De Sena, was shot and robbed at Arau Landing, Wenamu Rivr.
