Three seriously injured in East Coast Demerara accident

While thousands of Guyanese across Guyana were Friday morning preparing to celebrate Phagwah, three persons were seriously injured in an accident on the East Coast Demerara when the car they were travelling in slammed into a bridge.

Officials identified the injured as Trevon Harper, 28, of 109 Friendship, East Bank Demerara; Quacy Elcock,34, of 480 East Ruimveldt and Krayon Braithwhaite, 222, of Vigilance, East Coast Demerara.

They were admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) with trauma about their bodies. Braithwhaite’s neck was injured.

A Citizen reporter said the three were hurt when the car, bearing license plate PFF 7671, crashed head-on into the metal bridge at Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara while they were travelling in a westerly direction.
