Police identified him as 20-year old Nickel Leacock of 11 Miles, Mahdia.
Investigators said his body was seen on a trail at Black Water, Konawaruk about 7:45 AM.
A relative said police were late Tuesday afternoon expected to arrive in Mahdia with Leacock’s body and the prime suspect.
The dead man’s sister said her father told her brother was stabbed once in his lower back and he apparently bled to death on the lonely road until his body was seen early Tuesday morning. She said her brother and another man had an argument and apparently the assailant waylaid for him as he was walking on the trail from Black Water to return to White Water.
Leacock had gone to Black Water Monday afternoon to check on a consignment of items that was due for a shop that he and his father operate at White Water.
The young man left about 9 O’clock Tuesday night to “return to the backdam” when he was stabbed, the woman said.
