A drunken man and his four-year old son were Saturday afternoon seriously injured on the Essequibo Coast Public Road in a collision with a Guyana Power and Light (GPL) truck.

The truck driver was arrested to assist police in their investigations.

The injured have been identified as Delon Henry and 32-year old Norbert Benn. Henry was admitted to the Suddie Hospital in a critical condition as a result of head injuries. Doctors were considering air-dashing the lad to Georgetown for advanced treatment.

The accident occurred on the Huis’t Dieren Public Road about 2 PM while the truck and the cycle were travelling in opposite directions.
