Promenade Gardens teen robber jailed

A teenager was Friday convicted for robbing a couple in the Promenade Gardens and he was jailed for 50 months.

He is Dwayne Christopher of 12A Rosemary Lane, West End (Tiger Bay) South Cummingsburg, Georgetown.

The sentence was handed down by City Magistrate, Judy Latchman after he changed his plea to guilty on June, 17. He is currently on probation for two years and the jail term will run concurrently.

Christopher on May 1, being in the company of others, armed with a gun robbed Niquan Nestor of one gold band valued GUY$80,000, one Blackberry worth GUY$60,000, one gold ring valued GUY$70,000 and GUY$5,000 cash.

The second charge was that he, in the company of others, on the same day also robbed Kerlyn Isaacs of  one Blackberry valued GUY$50,000,  and one purse and one chain valued GUY$11,500.

He escaped but was arrested on May 12 with Nestor’s phone in his possession.
