An American man was Friday arrested by anti-narcotics police at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport after a sniffer dog helped intercept a large quantity of cocaine milk packets, police said.

Investigators said that about 1 AM Friday, said a search on the baggage of the American citizen yielded 7 kilogrammes, 57 grammes of cocaine in his suitcase “concealed in milk packets.”

“The search of the suspect’s baggage was done following indications received from the Narcotics Dog at the Airport,” police spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker said in a statement.

The man is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

Quite recently, two police dog-handlers- one each at Ogle and CJIA- were arrested and charged in connection with cocaine trafficking.
