Five arrested for robberies at Tuschen

Five men were Thursday arrested in connection with armed robberies at Tuschen Housing Scheme.

Police are hoping that from among the five, they would be able to charge two of them who carried out the robberies within almost three hours of each other.

Investigators said that about 4:15 AM two men armed with a handgun and a knife entered the home of Michelle Boyer, 39, and held her up along with two other family members. They took away jewellery, two cell phones, a bicycle and a pair of boots and escaped.

Then at about 6:45 AM two men armed with a handgun and a knife entered the premises of Gracie Ghanie, 31, and held her up while she was outside washing clothes. The perpetrators took her into the house which they ransacked and took away jewellery, four cell phones, GUY$15,000.00 and US$25.00 and escaped.
