Barbados-bound woman caught with marijuana, cocaine at Ogle Airport

A 20-year old woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon allegedly with a large quantity of marijuana and cocaine that she was attempting to take to Barbados, a senior anti-drug agent said.

The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) official confirmed that the Guyanese woman was arrested shortly before she was about to board a LIAT flight at the Ogle International Airport for the Caribbean island. Agents said they found five kilogrammes of marijuana and three kilogrammes of cocaine in her baggage.

According to the official, the narcotics were not concealed but was just packed in a suitcase.
