A woman was Thursday afternoon arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine in cosmetics to Spain, a senior official of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) said.
The official said the narcotic was yet to be weighed and the suspect was expected to be interviewed by investigators later on the day.
She is 48 years old and lives in Sophia.
CANU agents became suspicious when the woman turned up with the package to post the items. An examination was conducted and the substance was seen inside the bottles of cosmetics.
Quite recently, the failed smuggling of liquefied cocaine in an SSS tonic bottle ended up with four persons being killed after they ingested the substance thinking it was a genuine tonic.
