Man arrested for allegedly hacking brother to death

A man has been arrested in connection with the chopping death of his brother at Kaneville East Bank Demerara.

Investigators said the body of  40-year old Jairam “Nasho” Teekaram was found in the yard  of his home about 6:30 Tuesday morning.

Police said the body has “several suspected chop wounds.” “A suspect has been arrested and he is in police custody assisting with the investigations,” police spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker said in a statement. Demerara Waves Online News was told that the detainee, who has been identified as Rohan Teekaram, has not confessed to the crime.

Neighbours said they heard the brothers arguing Sunday night. It was not immediately clear when Teekaram was chopped.
