A pregnant mother and her four children were rendered homeless Holy Saturday afternoon when fire destroyed a one flat building at Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara.

The head of the household has been identified as Tonza Woolford. She has been employed as a Meat Handler for several years now at Nigel’s Supermarket.

When the woman received a telephone call that her house was ablaze, she was immediately released from duty.

No one was at home when the fire started shortly after 5 PM. The building was not served by the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) for several years now.
