Bogus teacher bailed for threatening to kill brother

A man, who falsely claimed that he was a teacher at a city school, was Tuesday granted GUY$20,000 for allegedly threatening to kill his brother.

Brian Matheson,38, of Princess Street, Wortmanville, pleaded not guilty to using threatening language on Mark Matheson on April 9  at Princess Street where a breach of the peace may be occasioned.

The accused told the court that he was a teacher at Campbelville Secondary School at whih he taught several subjects.

However, Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the court, presided over by Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan, that an investigation revealed that Brian Matheson was not a teacher at that school.

After the prosecutor did not object to bail, the man was also bonded to keep the peace pending the trial.

Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry would hear the case on May 15.
