Chief Commercial Officer of Insel Air International bv, Jurgen Lippinkhof and CEO of Roraima Airways, Gerry Gouveia.

Guyanese would soon be able to travel to the United States (US) almost hassle-free through the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba, officials said.

This new low-cost travel option is going to be made possible through Insel Air, according to the airline’s local handling agent, Roraima Airways.

“One of the distinguishing advantages of flying with Insel Air is the pre-clearance Customs and Immigration in Aruba, therefore entering the United States as a domestic flight,” said Roraima Airways, the local ground handling and general sales agent, in a statement.

Insel Air will be serving the Guyana-Aruba-Curacao-Miami route. The inaugural flight will begin on June 18 with a six-month introductory fare of US$270 round-trip to Aruba and US$345 to Miami all taxes included.

Passengers will be allowed one piece baggage and one carry-on.

Roraima Airways sees the introduction of Insel Air as yet another step in boosting the tourism industry.
