Two men were Thursday jailed for breaking in to the old New Thriving Restaurant and stealing several construction tools.

Ian Paul,36, and Adito Smith,40, of ‘D’ Field Sophia told the court that they are labourers. Paul said the items were not inside the building at Camp Street and Brickdam but were laying at the back. Saying that it was his bad luck that he was caught, Paul begged the court for mercy.

The tools, valued at GUY$300,000, are the property of Jeng Shen Zue.

In the end, City Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan jailed them for two years on charges of breaking and entering and larceny.

Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones said that about 10 PM on March 30, two plain clothes policemen saw the two men throwing a number of white bags out of the building. The policemen waited until the men exited the building and arrested them.
