Bajan on wounding charge granted bail

A Barbadian man here to celebrate Mashramani in Guyana was granted $200,000 bail from High Court, after he was charged with stabbing a minibus driver several times. 

Mike Clark, charged with intent to maim or disfigure, inflicted grievous bodily harm on Shawn McAllister at Holmes Street, Georgetown on February 16 last.  

He made his second appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Friday last and was told to return on March 3.

Defence Lawyer, Adrian Thompson on his client first appearance in Court, said Clarke was in Guyana for the Republic Day carnival on February 23.  He said the misunderstanding stemmed from Mc Allister hitting Clarke with the minibus
