Businessman charged with “furious driving” on alleged footwear thief

A businessman who allegedly furiously struck down a man he said had stolen his footwear was Thursday placed on GUY$500 thousand and the alleged thief was placed on GUY$115,000 bail.

City Magistrate, Judy Latchman imposed the custodial sentences on businessman 39-year old Burnett Hutson and the alleged thief, Marlon Dolphin when they appeared before.furious dolphin

They were ordered to return to court on March 10.

The prosecution’s case is that Hutson drove motor vehicle GPP 9620 in a furious manner and struck down Dolphin off his cycle on February 14 at Jackson Street, Tucville. After Dolphin fell and sustained injuries, Hutson allegedly lashed him several times about his body.

The businessman accused Dolphin of stealing several pairs of a variety of footwear valued GUY$115,000 from inside his stairway.
