Mike Clarke

A Barbadian man, here for Mashramani, was Tuesday arraigned for stabbing a minibus driver several times.

Mike Clarke was remanded to prison until February 20 after he was refused bail on a charge of with intent to main or disfigure inflicted grievous bodily harm on Shawn Mc Allister.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. The prosecution objected to bail on the ground that the accused is a flight risk.

Defence Lawyer, Adrian Thompson said Clarke was in Guyana for the Republic Day carnival on February 23.  He said the misunderstanding stemmed from Mc Allister hitting Clarke with the minibus

The prosecution’s case is that Mc Allister and Clarke had an altercation. The Barbadian man, armed with a knife, stabbed the minibus driver several times about his body
