At least three critically injured persons were late Friday night being transferred to the Georgetown Hospital following a gruesome collision between a bus and a car.

The incident occurred at Harlem/ Ruimzight, West Coast Demerara earlier Friday night.

Police sources said several persons were seriously injured and were rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH). No one has died.

A WDRH source said three of the injured were being transferred for advanced medical treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Investigators were unsure about the circumstances that led to the accident. Police were later deployed to clear the lone east-west corridor of the wreckage so that traffic could have flowed freely again.
