An 18-year old man was Monday arraigned for allegedly murdering Pegasus taxi driver Rubrindranauth Jeeboo late last year.

Lorenzo Forde of 4 Drysdale Street, Charlestown, Georgetown was not required to plea to the indictable charge that was read to him by Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

He is accused of committing the capital offence between December 27 and 28, 2013 at Georgetown.

He was remanded to prison until February 19.

Police zoomed in on Forde after tracing calls made to Jeeboo’s cellular phone that was stolen from him at the time of the murder. The Prosecutor said Jeeboo left home for work on December 27 about 9 PM and his body was found in a garbage heap on Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt on December 28 about 7:50 AM.

The Prosecutor said Forde confessed in the presence of his aunt to committing the offence along with two other accomplices. He allegedly escorted the police to the area where the body was dumped.

The prosecutor said a yellow Allion car was found abandoned on the road at Tucville and the number plates were taken off.

Forde is already before the court on two counts of robbery. He allegedly stole two cars from two drivers on December 26 and 30.
