The Government Analyst – Food and Drug Department has issued an alert to the general public about a counterfeit 10 kg (bucket) of Golden Cream Margarine in circulation on our local market in Regions No. 5 and 6.
The regulatory agency said it was taking steps to pull the product off the market.

“The Department is working in close collaboration with the Sterling Products limited local manufacturer and has since contacted members of the National Food Safety and Control Committee in Region Number 5 and 6 to seize the counterfeit product and to determine its source for further action to be taken,” said the Food and Drug Department.

Authorities issued the following description of the fake Golden Cream Margarine: This counterfeit product does not have the word MARGARINE on the label, the colour of the label is a deeper blue and yellow, the word ‘free of transfat’ is omitted and the International Standards Organisation (ISO) 9001 – 2008 mark in green under the List of Ingredients is missing.
