FOUND: Miracle Price

The baby girl who was abducted from a day care centre Monday afternoon was early Tuesday evening removed from a house at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, according to well-placed sources.

Police were called in after the alleged abductor, Candace Adonis, turned up at a relative with four-month old Miracle Angel Price saying that the baby was hers.

Investigators were summoned and the woman was arrested. She then escorted police to the location where the toddler was rescued.

Details were not immediately available about the exact circumstances and location where the baby was found.

Price was collected by Adonis from Care Heart Day Care at Middle Street, Buxton about 3:30  Monday afternoon after telling the Head Mistress and another staff member that she was the child’s aunt.

However, when the baby’s mother- Samantha Price- arrived after 5 PM to submit documentation and collect her, she was advised that her sister had earlier done so. When the mother called her sister to confirm that was so, she was told that the baby was not collected.

That was Miracle’s first day at the Day Care Centre. The head of the facility, Seatta Reid, recalled that Samantha was too late to complete a form stating all the persons who were authorised to uplift the child.
