Seaman on armed robbery charge

A seaman who allegedly robbed a man of a silver chain at knife-point was Thursday granted GUY$50,000 bail.Joseph Parris was granted his pre-trial liberty by City Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan on the charge of armed robbery. He has to return to court on December 17.

Police alleged that he robbed Ravi Rajkumar of the chain worth GUY$12,000 on November 13 on Wellington Street, Georgetown.

Facts are that about 12:30 AM, Rajkumar was walking when he was held at knife-point by Parris. He grabbed the chain and escaped but was later caught following a report to the police.
