Several persons were up to early Monday morning in police custody in connection with heist of at least 100 ounces of raw gold and cash from a mining company in Port Kaituma, according to well placed sources.
Sources confirmed that a quantity of the booty was located in Berbice and those arrested include three employees. At least GUY$5 million have been reportedly located at Charity, Essequibo.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has not issued a statement on the incident that occurred on Friday at El Dorado Mining Company since Friday. However, the force opted to issue a statement on a road accident.
The Jagmohans who own the company could not be immediately contacted.
