Residents burn down thieves’ hideout

Fed up with being repeatedly robbed by a group of men who usually hide out in a shack, residents Thursday night burnt down the structure at Lamaha Park, Georgetown.

The fire was set to the shack less than one night after police swooped down on the location in an effort to capture the youths.

Residents said robbers usually pounced on passerby during the early hours of mornings and nights.

Persons in the area have also complained that their cars have been burgled and cash and other valuables stolen.
