Armed, masked robbers invade rice farmer’s home

A rice farmer was Monday night robbed when six gunmen invaded his home at Black Bush Polder, East Berbice.

46-year old Mohammed Salim was also gun-butted to his head by one of the masked men, police said. No shots were fired.

Chief of Criminal Investigations, Deputy Police Commissioner Seelall Persaud said the bandits carted off two laptops, GUY$50,000 and jewellery that the six occupants were wearing at the time.

One of the bandits was armed with a shotgun and the others handguns.
